PRE SUKMA KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP

This was my first official assignment .... covering a sports event..
Initially I thought it would be fun ... you know having access to the comptition floor, and being so close to the action. Ohhhh ... was I wrong. Being the official photographer, I have to move from one court (they call it "tatami") to the other to get images of the fights. I did not get the chance to follow the "sport" ... boy, how I wish I was only a spectator

While in the TV studio, some of the areas where the celebs are taking a break is not very bright. Zainal Alam was very obliging ... I dragged him to an area to get the extra splash of light on his face. The result is this image.

Vanida & Zainal

I was at a nearby TV studio accompanying a friend, Dinictis, who was on assignment. The company he works for is producing a TV game show and yesterday was the first day of recording. My friend was assigned to document that for the company's file and archive. Boy .... I didn't know a 30 minutes game show takes 6 hours to shoot. I was at the studio at 8.00pm, there was a short rehersal then. The actual recording of the show started about 11.00pm and ended 6.00 am the next day. II missed another night sleep yesterday .... a little tired today .... but it was fun.
I got these shots of Vanida Imran and Zainal Alam Kadir, the hosts for the game show. The show would be shown in a local TV network soon.

Long Weekend

It's a looooonnggg weekend .... it only ends tomorrow, Wednesday 1st Febraury 2006. Yesterday, 31st January is the second day of Chinese New Year and today is the first day of the Islamic Calendar, 1 Muharram, 1427 Hijrah, a public holiday ... yoooohoooo!!!! . 9.00am in the morning, I decided to take the family out for a movie and lunch afterwards.
After the movie, while waiting for my wife shopping for a new handbag, I decided to get some photos of in the Suria KLCC Mall. I know, photography was not allowed in the premises, but I took out my camera anyways.
..... 2 shots ... that's it ... after that, a security officer tapped on my shoulder, asking me to stop shooting and put my camera away.
