After The Rain ....

It rained quite heavily this afternoon in KL. As usual after a downpour, getting home is nightmare. I had to go through 40 minutes of traffic to get home instead of the usual 15 minutes .... more than double the time.
After dinner, to relieve the driving stress, I went up to the highest point near my home and was presented with a wonderful view ... a beautifully lighted Kuala Lumpur.
The city just needed a shower

Sepang Formula-1 Fever
|

No .... I did not go to Sepang for today's race.
Instead, It's a family day out. I took the kids to the KLCC playground early in the morning while I did some light jogging (more like brisk walking) around the park. At about 10 in the morning, we went inside the mall for some late breakfast. Later watched the latest animated movie, "Robots". After the movie, I treated the whole family to a delicious lunch. It was a wonderful day out with the kids ....and the wife, of course 
When I got home, switched on the idiot box, the F1 race was on and the race was on its 13th lap. I sat down on my favorite couch, and then remembered Jeff Ambig and I recently joked about staying at home and shoot some F1 action on the telly. Hmmm ... I immediately took out my camera and shoot some images. The result was not satisfactory, but I toyed around with photoshop and churned out these ......

Petronas ... 10 Years of Formula-1
|
|
To celebrate and commemorate Petronas Malaysia 10 year anniversary in motor sport, specifically Formula-1, Petronas set up a special exhibition at its gallery. A friend was involved with setting up of the exhibition, so yours truly here got a first class tour of the exhibit. Well, lucky me ... with a special permission to record some images. The exhibit opens to the public tomorrow but no photography allowed.

KLCC @ Gotham City ???

I had not been out shooting lately, busy with my day job. Then, I was under the weather for the last few days. Weekend is here, so I created this out of boredom ... thanks to Photoshop.
This image is a combination of 4 different photos.
- KLCC is one,
- The birds another,
- The moon is another shot and
- The dark blue sky was another image ...
Put the 4 images together and here's the result. Getting the hang with photoshop now

Nurul ...

I enrolled into one of Ted's lighting class last Saturday, and part of the lesson plan was to shoot a model under various lighting condition. The class was good, well presented by the instructor ....
The problem that day was a nervous, novice photog, trying to photograph a model ... I just didn't know what to do. Nurul, the beautiful model, had done this before, so I asked her to do some "freestyle" pose with me giving only a little direction. During the entire shoot, I "directed" a pose maybe 2 or 3 times only. And still could not get the hang of this type photography at the end of the session.
So, here are some of my shots of Nurul that Saturday afternoon....

Live Long & Prosper ...

... that's what is usually associated with tossing and eating Yee Sang. I was invited to a corporate luncheon to celebrate the Chinese New Year and Yee Sang was served as a "starter" before the main course .... Boy!!! it was delicous.
Yee Sang is somewhat like a raw fish salad ... a dish of thinly sliced raw fish mixed with crispy fried tofu on top of crunchy fresh and pickled vegetables, tossed with lemonny type dressing. A burstful of flavours in every bite.
Those present at the table tossed the Yee Sang as high as possible (just like small kids playing with their food). The conversation, the salad tossing and the eating created a sense of fun and togetherness for the people at the table .... and that's what prosperity is all about , well being ... not just about money and wealth.
I'll have a cock-a-doodle-doo year ahead ....
