It has been 4 years since I visited this town, on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula ... I grew up here. This time around, I was ni no mood to capture images of the town but rather, meet some old friends and chat about our lives ... most of the time over food 
My wife and my mother like it here because Kota Bharu is one huge Batik store. So taking them shopping was the other agenda when we were there.
Here's some random snap shots I managed to capture .... and I really do mean snap shots

Presidential Breakfast ...

I was going through some photos I took while I was in Kota Bharu earlier this month and some shots of breakfast caught my attention. (Well, I was hungry at that time)
This was at a famous coffeeshop in Kota Bharu, the "White House". They serve perfect half-boiled eggs, flame-grilled toast and "powerful" coffee. The coffeeshop guarantee the half-boiled eggs, that, if you find them undercooked or overly done, they'll replace the eggs f.o.c.
..... and they serve this throughout the day .....
Rather than doing multiple postings of breakfast here, I created this montage .....

Waiting .....
|

I was back at my wife's hometown again this weekend, visiting her family. While waiting for my wife to get her hair done, I walked to a nearby train station and noticed this person, also waiting ... for the 11.00am train to the next town.
Well, at that moment I thought life is all about waiting ....
... waiting to grow up
... waiting for school to end
... waiting for the summer holidays
... waiting to get a job
... waiting for a hearthy dinner after a day's work
... waiting for the next pay check
... and wait ... and wait ... and wait ... and wait ............................
But, the beautiful blue sky that day made my waiting worth while

Time Out .... At Port Dickson

The last two weeks was very hectic ... long working days and at night too tired to do anyhting. Last weekend, a friend let me stay at his beachside apartment. So, I spent the whole weekend with my family lazing by the beach enjoying the sun, sea and ...*ahem* view
The setting sun last Sunday was nothing to shout about, just like anyother sunset we get in Kuala Lumpur. So, I decided to capture something else ...
The next morning was something else ... Woke up very early that Monday morning trying to get a glimpse of the rising sun (and of course getting a photo of it). Rather than pointing my camera directly to the sun, taking a "conventional" shot of the sun rising, I decided to look away from the sun and was greeted with this beautiful view .
I did a bad job of capturing the glowing cloud. Believe me .... it was wayyyy more beautiful than this

When Two Chums Go to the Zoo

Last Weekend I went to visit my friend in Ipoh to pass him my two rangefinder cameras to be serviced. We decided to go get some "wild life" shots ... at the Taiping Zoo. Great fun chatting & catching up with ole times while clicking the shutters at the same time

It's my son's sport's day .... a-la "tele-match" (remember this classic German game show). It was a wet day, not a good day for 6 year old kids to have fun. I was there for a short while only. Right after my son finished his event, it started to pour ... buckets. I asked for permission to take my son home, and left. I only had a few shots this morning .... all a blur

Sunday, April 17, 2005 ..... Went down to Melaka with photomalaysia gang for a one day shoot around the historical city. This time, I decided to try shooting on slides, and black and white film. I just got my slides processed yesterday and had it scanned only this evening. I still have another roll of slides in my camera ... still 19 shots left before sending it for processing. As for the black and white, out of 36 frames, I still have 12 left. Looks like it will be a while before I can post the black & white pictures here ...
In the mean time, here are some of my shots that day .... Film: Fuji Velvia 50.

My Wife's Grandmother

I drove down 100 miles to visit my wife's grandmother last weekend. She was happy ... especially happy playing with the great grand children. Later in the afternoon, I saw her sitting by the porch looking at the children playing. I decided to snap a few candid shots ...
